Stock Charting Software
I trade with two different programs each day. Quotetracker and IQ Charts, I wanted to start off with these two, as I get a lot of questions each day, asking what setup I am using. I have turned so many people onto Quotetracker as it is a great free charting program, and is compatible with multiple brokerage accounts. Meaning the quotes are fed to the charts through your broker and you don't have to pay a fee for this. It is quite amazing that this application is free and the support is great. Lets look at this charting program a little closer.
Quotetracker allows you to maintain and track stock portfolios, shows you live Intraday charts of collected data, and alerts you when the price goals you set are reached and more. It features charts with multiple indicators, Streaming Level II Quotes, Integrated Trading, Intraday and Historical Chart Trend Lines, as well as email alerts, news monitoring, support for multiple portfolios and more. Live streaming intraday charts are a useful and required feature, not only displaying the price action in real time, but allowing you to apply indicators and trend lines. You can also display a historical chart.
Now what I like about Quotetracker is the ability to see up to 100 different charts using there thumbnail charts on the main screen, I like to watch and notice stocks that are showing good relative strength compared to the markets. This feature is nice if you don't have many monitors to view the sull size charts.
