  • Release of first cheat sheet for High Probability Setups.

    daytraderockstar post

    posted by daytraderockstar

    May 29, 2013 10:24 pm

Today I wanted to release the first edition of the HPS cheat sheets. One of the reasons is for a update is a new revision of the candlestick indicator. I will go into this indicator in detail in a upcoming video, but for a recap it is a signal generated only when stochastics are at extreme levels and break above previous days highs after a 3 or more day down trend where we see lower highs and lower lows.

"Described as a buy trigger here, but opposite applies to short trigger"

But it is always a good review to break down how to get to a HPS setup and that's where the cheat sheets come in. Each one that will be released will show specific recurring patterns that I look for in the market and when this pattern forms I cross reference with the 5 indicator methodology. making sure we have both pattern and 3 or more indicators aligning for a trade short or long.

Cheat Sheet 1 (Review of a HPS set up) with Flow chart

in addition this will be the outline of the High Probability Course posted in the members forum. Each indicator will be broken down into its own webinar and archived on the site.

There might be terms you might not be familiar with but it will be all broken down in chapters.

    Any questions please email

For some reason the video was not recorded in an optimal way. It will take a while to load on your computer when you go to view it. Give it about 1-2 minutes to start playing before you start worrying :-)  BUT this weeks watch list again kicks some serious butt. Love the set ups and can't wait to get back into the markets on Tuesday. Not adding anything extra here (charts ect..)  as it is all explained on the video. I am going out on a limb and looking for a pullback Monday.. What am I basing this on? Well not on any chart pattern or overbought indicator cause those are at this point in the rally all embedded to the upside and lose there timing value. I am looking at the nice ramp up late Friday afternoon. There is nothing concrete here other then I've seen before a Friday ramp and Monday trap play out on more then one occasion. Only think I am willing to do is wait it out and I added a little SPXU  at the close.

The fact is it doesn't feel like there are many sellers in the market. Leaving a lot of shorts trying to catch a top and in return getting chased out. I was twice chased in MCO. We are in the middle of May and on CNBC yesterday they were arguing about why the market continues to go up. They all forget the first rule of trading...The markets are always right. Let's take it day by day and when the patterns start to break down. (Trend Lines start to fail) (stochastics start to embed on the lows) We will have our best indication of a pull back.

and one last thing the Fed continues to back this market, they have the formula and even though many don't think its right. The results are shown in the markets and this is seen as the best way to stimulate the economy. I would be surprised to see them pull the plug way before they approach some of there targets like unemployment rate of 6.5% currently we are at 7.5% and heading down. Next month report is not that far away and just might be what the Fed needs to see to even consider hinting of this. Prediction early we get a decent drop in the unemployment rate, and when we know in these markets bad news is good news, this good news might actually be bad news for the markets. That first Friday in June is right around the corner. I wouldn't mind lightening up a lot into that report.

3 new set ups have been added to the list this week. and I go over 8-10 great charts that continue to look great

It was another strong week in the market, and going into next week there is not much that is changing. The markets are acting like there are no sellers except those who are being slowly squeezed out of of their positions. May is almost half over and everyone has abandoned the notion of sell in May. You all know we were following closely the hype leading into May and from that overall focus I knew there was a great chance of making new highs. And here we are. Biggest fear right now is someone manipulating some news and causing air pockets of selling.

There has been a change in how I been analyzing the markets, I pay a lot of attention to market psychology and how the markets are perceived by both the uniformed public and those who have a more active part in the markets. And this alone has help me read into why the markets continue to move higher. As of last week I have noticed a shift in the sentiment balance, Where  I am seeing more and more market (followers). Seeing a different perspective on why we are heading higher, or should I say embracing the idea this market could have a lot more room to run. So this is a change and that change is something we talk about a few month ago when I put a chart on the site describing emotional ride the market causes the individual investor to go through. It's a good time to revisit that  and now see we are entering the optimism phase.

And yes I do believe the the time frame fits also, as each year we came back from the 2008 lows, the markets went though a healing process and continues to go through that. We know that, as we still know that there are people that have those scars and it will take time.  5 years to start feeling better about the markets doesn't sound like a lot to me, especially if you had your retirement cut in half.

Not guessing how far further we will go, right now its time to take advantage of the markets bullish bias to the upside and stick to the plan and discipline.

oh yeah first comes optimism then comes excitement......

Where did we leave off? Oh yeah. The market is going to move higher because there is too much focus on the May effect. Well, that's what the first week in May has proven true, and I am expecting  a bit more upside. Give me a reason why we shouldn't head higher. It seems like the market has digested and spit out every reason there was to take a breather, but there has not been a significant pull back in 6 months. One thing I don't want to do is try to time a top. I know from experience that is looking for trouble. What is working is tight continuation patterns, like flags, and most trend line bounces. With the flags, there are a lot to be found this week from PG (Proctor Gamble) (best bet) to K (Kellogg) and $A ( Agilent Technologies Inc) I think I left this one out of the video , but should be in there. Here's a freebie for non-DTR subscribers

The others are just as good. I am expecting a little bit more upside next week. But, I did start my SPXU  position this week, but very small

    RPM post

    posted by RPM

    May 02, 2013 5:45 pm

At 5:30PM EST the DTR primary chat server at the data center became non-responsive due to a scheduled 30 second networking change. That change left the SAN to "storage Area Network" un-available to the entire datacenter. GasBot Chat should be fine for now it's on a different segment. I have 2 spare chat servers but the DNS propagation time for fail-over might exceed the repair of the SAN time frame. If this were during peak hours we would have switched traffic. If it becomes an issue going forward I will fail us over to dtrch2 or dtrch3. I will keep everyone posted. Sorry for the trouble.

    @rpm

chat server access restored 48 minutes.

    Thanks for understanding
